Fiona had no children, and she had been willed a house. Also, unlike herself, Fiona didn’t routinely spend $600 for yet another purse, or $110 for a bra—and then another $85 for the matching panties.

(Sheridan had once joked to her friends that she spent so much money on underwear, she ought to claim her breasts and crotch as tax-deductible dependents.)

The point was, Fiona didn’t overspend like she did, and so should be able to easily afford flights to New York as well.

She sighed and rolled her eyes.

“Something wrong?” Fiona asked, stroking her leg.

“No!” Sheridan quickly answered. “Just sleepy…”

That was true…it had been a long day. What’s more, the sex had drained her!

However, that wasn’t why she had sighed.

She had sighed because she was building castles in the sky.

Really? She was going to get herself involved in a long-distance relationship? Those never worked! She hadn’t even been able to make it last between her and Tiffany, a journalist in Philadelphia—only a two-hour drive away, even less by train!

Besides, Sheridan knew she was too jealous to enjoy a long-distance romance with Fiona. She would just end up falling asleep every night convinced Fiona was out with some sexy ingénue lifeguard who could do a terrific breaststroke—both in the water and in the bed!

And did Fiona even want any kind of relationship with her?

Sure, they were having all sorts of fun now, but…so what?
